Image via Wikipedia

I learned looking for local co-ops, cost-shares and farms that strawberries and citrus are now being harvested in Florida.

I definitely believe Florida citrus is the best and a couple years ago I spent citrus season up and down West Florida basking in the luscious tastes of oranges, tangerines and grapefruit.

If you can’t gush about the rich flavor of these fruit in the peak of their season, you’ve never truly had fresh, ripe citrus. If you live anywhere near Florida, Texas or California, I urge you to get some really ripe citrus and go to town, with your mouth… travel through the taste sensations and indulge in the juicy sweetness. You deserve it… citrus season only lasts so long. If you don’t live near these places, please don’t settle for pasteurized orange juice. Get it delivered or go visit the areas yourself and find yourself an orange grove or just a great farmer’s market… if you find scent-illating citrus that wafts around you like a perfume, that is soft to the touch, vibrant in color and seriously shocking in the depth of flavor, you’ve got a winner.

Remember to share your success here… I want more people to realize what they’re missing when they eat unripe citrus and say they just don’t like oranges or tangerines that much…that they’re tart or just don’t taste that good… it’s not the citrus, its unripe.

The same thing with strawberries. Really good strawberries are soft… deep crimson, juicy, sweet, que rica…dripping like velvet from its form and melts in your mouth. When you get strawberries like that, let me know…I want to live vicariously through you, even if I’ve just eaten them, I’ll pretend to do it again…when they’re good, they’re that good…but that only happens when they’re fresh and ripe. So please stop thinking that Wal-mart strawberries are representative of the finger-fruit and go get yourself the real deal!

This is your fruitalini yogic mission… put your body and mind into position to receive ripe, luscious, seasonal fruit… breathe in the hypnotic scents, exhale completely and devour the life and energy of nature’s treats… manifest that sweetness, the vivaciousness, the freshness into your life, and…repeat.

When you’ve completed your yogic journey, lie down for a deep relaxation and feel your cells engaged with new life. (and don’t forget to let me know about your experience)
–Sat nam and fruit be with you

Through our studies of nutrition and yogic living we have seen the success of eating a high-fruit diet. We have experimented with many different eating regimes and studied lots of doctors, nutritionists, and healers. For the past few years we have really settled on the healthiest, most successful eating pattern we could recommend to others and practice ourselves. This is the Natural Hygiene system of health, well-written about in the book 80/10/10 by Dr. Douglas Graham http://www.foodnsport.com/. He writes about a raw vegan, low-fat eating program, that is high on fruit! That is where the term Fruitalini was coined, after about a year of following this program and being Kundalini yogis, we came up with this term.

Now, we’ve realized ways of encouraging, supporting and assisting others with this program. Our main focus is to help people with their grocery lists by starting a cost-share. We will purchase the best, local, bulk supply of fruit we can find, at the best prices. Eating a high fruit diet is greatly eased by having minimal grocery store visits. It is definitely best to buy in bulk, from the farm, that is what we’re doing.

We’ll also offer guides, coaching and advice on how to plan your grocery list, meals, your caloric needs, recipes, and even order for you, to help you transition to this lifestyle. If you want just to start eating more fruit, we can help you order 5 days/week worth of fruit for your family. If you’d like to try to eat the 80/10/10 way, we can help you order enough fruit/produce to get you through a week or two, offer you meal plans, and even individualize portions for you, or prepare meals for you.

You will know exactly how much it costs to get the food you are ordering, and no profit will be made from us. Our only charges will be to get things shipped(when necessary) and storage, if we need to store things into containers, to separate orders. You will receive abundant information on how to take on a raw vegan lifestyle, and we will even share meals on order pick-up days. You will have full knowledge of everything revolving around your food purchases and we will build a community of healthy people around us, sharing the success of adopting this lifestyle and doing it yogi-style!

Our first order will go out in June 2011. So please get in touch if you’re interested. I’m getting together our order list, sample meals and information on how to calculate and plan your purchase for your calorie/meal needs.

We’ll also be coordinating with the Sacramento Free-Skool/Economic Sustainability Co-Op http://sacfreeskool.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/let-the-learning-begin/ to provide opportunities for the community to experience the benefits and ease of eating a fruit-based diet.

Fruitalini Yoga is the merge of Kundalini, Yogic Lifestyle and living a fruitful and fruit-filled life.

Fruit eating is symbolically simple, satisfying and spirited. It happens to represent a very sustainable, environmentally friendly lifestyle, and is naturally the healthiest food for humans.

Yoga and food go together. During my yoga teacher training, our required diet was just as life altering and profound a learning experience, as the yoga itself.

We want to show people what yoga is truly about. For us, yoga is not about classes, poses, clothing, products or gurus. For us Yoga is about living.

Through our yogic training and experience living as yogis for several years, we have learned a huge array of topics, solutions, possibilities and practices for many different life events. That is what Yoga is about…not physical flexibility, holistic flexibility.

We have learned to adapt and adjust ideas, programs, goals, and life itself to fit people and circumstances. We have done much of this at random, letting things come to us and voluntarily. We now feel we have paid our dues, we are authentic yogis and we are able to focus on bringing the yogic way to individuals, families, businesses, communities and more.

We will be offering various programs, services, coaching/consulting, and more. We have experienced a wide range of life’s offerings and we are truly open to whatever our customers need, as long as they are open to the Fruitalini Way, we will be there providing a full spectrum holistic support for implementing yoga into life for whatever situations our customers need help with.

We will start listing specific, pre-designed programs and services we will offer, but feel free at anytime to contact us with your questions or comments.
